Jyllinge’s new clubhouse in Spraglehøj is designed as an open, inviting building that stands out in the wide landscape between the town of Jyllinge and the Gulddysse Forest. The location between the town and the forest means that the building must find its own expression in the green landscape.
ARCHITECTURAL LANGUAGE IS A PART OF THE LANDSCAPE
The proposal presents the new clubhouse as a simple rhythmic structure. The structure integrates the new building and future expansion possibilities into a cohesive whole, where a new prominent main entrance is established for the entire sports facility. The building is light, open, and inviting, with an architectural language that intertwines with windbreaks, trees, and the vegetation around the sports facility – an idea that enhances Spraglehøj’s green character as part of the landscape.
TERRACES FACING ALL CARDINAL DIRECTIONS
The roof is the building’s characteristic element: cross-shaped columns outside the boxes support the roof and allow for the large span over the club room while creating space for terraces facing all cardinal directions. The terraces provide an opportunity to look out over the playing fields or the open fields to the south. As a screen and sunshade, vertical wooden slats are installed, which, together with the columns, give the building its distinctive, light, and shimmering play of light and shadow.
