JULEMÆRKEFONDENS HUS GETS FIVE HEARTS
Danish newspaper Politiken has reviewed Julemærkefondens Hus and awarded its architecture five out of six hearts: ”Here, adaptation, reason, and beauty form a greater whole.” Architecture editor Karsten R.S. Ifversen draws attention to the durability. He describes the building as harmoniously well-proportioned with a strong internal coherence, and the great flexibility allows for repurposing. In the choice of materials, the focus is on natural and mono-materials with very long lifespans, which Ifversen also highlights: “…far beyond the fifty-year benchmark we use to assess sustainability today. And with the beauty it has been shaped with, it will surely find a new use.”
