For us, architecture is a narrative art form that interprets and retells a story. Every building has its own story, and context is key to shaping the story of the landscapes and buildings we develop, design, transform, and construct. From early concepts and sketching to completed buildings, we carefully analyse and integrate the local, physical, historical, sociocultural, and organisational contexts throughout every stage of our process.

In our work with cultural buildings, the local context is always of central importance to us – the relationship with the site, its historical and cultural layers, identity-shaping qualities, in-dept user and needs analyses, and the appreciation of what already works, ensuring that changes always strengthen the core purpose. In this way, we always aspire to create buildings that are founded on thorough knowledge, characterised by precise and logical choices, and surprising yet self-evident in their interpretation of the site’s unique history.
