ANNIVERSARY / 20 YEARS
Twenty years ago, Cornelius Vöge came into the world—in a house we had designed ourselves. The studio was launched—following a few false starts and a three-year working grant—in the atelier at the bottom of our garden. During the early years, our work centered entirely on single-family homes. While we designed a few houses from scratch, the vast majority of our projects involved architectural assistance for extensions and renovations.
Like all entrepreneurs, we faced a constant struggle to secure projects and generate income. With two of us relying on the same company for our livelihood, we were vulnerable, and over the years, we have often had to consider whether the strain and uncertainty were worth it. Every time, the conclusion has been that as long as we believe we are making a positive difference, it is entirely worthwhile. Over the years, the studio and our family life have become so intertwined that both feel like a completely natural part of our lives. It still feels right and rewarding.
On September 18, 2026, we will celebrate these past 20 years, and we hereby invite all current and former partners, employees, and colleagues to join us for a social gathering featuring tapas, wine, and beer.
WIN – LIBRARY AND ART SCHOOL
A team with lead consultant Cornelius Vöge and JL Rådgivende Ingeniører, has won the contract to create a new hub at Gadstrup School, designed to serve as a new everyday meeting place for the local community. The aim is to establish a new cultural gathering place by integrating the public library and the arts school into the school premises. The youth club, school library, and after-school care facility are already located in the buildings alongside the school itself. The project was initiated by Roskilde Municipality and is being realized through close collaboration between Gadstrup School, Kulturskolen Roskilde, Roskilde Libraries, and Klub Roskilde Syd. The new hub is supported by the Nordea Foundation and is expected to open during the 2027/28 school year.
DELEGÅRDE – STRATEGY TOOL FOR TRANSFORMING FARM BUILDINGS INTO LIVING SPACES
Our new strategy tool, DELEGÅRDE, will be launched at an event on 9 April and will soon be made available to families and communities who want to transform traditional farm properties into shared farms for multiple families or generations. The tool has been developed in collaboration with Byværk and supported by Bevar Mere and Realdania.
The purpose of DELEGÅRDE is to provide an overview in the early phases, strengthen dialogue with prospective co-residents, public authorities and financial institutions, and make the path from idea to action clearer and easier to navigate. The ambition is to promote the transformation of existing farms into new forms of housing and activities, contributing to attractive homes with a lower climate footprint by preserving and renovating rather than demolishing and building new.
SYDHAVN CHURCH
Sydhavn Church will be Copenhagen’s first new church on the waterfront in almost 280 years. Cornelius Vöge is the architect on the project together with co-architects Rørbæk Møller (lead consultant), Thing Brandt, and Artelia. The new church will be built in timber on Teglholmen by the water, surrounded by a large, publicly accessible park. With its distinctive, highly visible profile, it will become a landmark for the neighbourhood and, in addition to its religious functions, will also serve as a cultural centre, providing a vibrant local meeting place.
FREDERIKSBERG SWIMMING POOL HONORED
We are proud to receive Frederiksberg Municipality’s Architecture Award, which has been granted to the client and architect for the restoration of Frederiksberg Svømmehal.
Since 1902, the award has been presented every other year as a tribute to beautiful and functional architecture and façades in Frederiksberg. A jury consisting of politicians and external architects selects the recipients, who are honored with a bronze plaque and a diploma.
HELLIG KORS CHURCH CRYPT
Cornelius Vöge has been selected as lead consultant for the remodelling of the crypt under Hellig Kors Church, Nørrebro, Copenhagen. The vision is to create a new space for dining, parish events, and community activities. The project places a strong emphasis on social sustainability; new facilities must be inclusive and open to all and support various forms of formal and informal communities. The project will begin august 2025 and includes opening the crypt towards the existing, lovely garden south side of the church.
JULEMÆRKEFONDENS HUS – ON THE COVER OF ARKITEKTEN
The professional journal Arkitekten has used many kind words in its review of Julemærkefondens Hus, which has also made it to the cover.
Architect MAA and technical editor Pernille Scheuer describes the building as “a fascinating volumetry that appears as a kind of hybrid between architectural styles of different eras, between a villa and a modern office building.” And she concludes: “it is clear that the project has been executed with great confidence and ingenuity.”

Hovedstadens Forskønnelse is honoring the restoration of Frederiksberg Svømmehal this year.
The association works to preserve and enhance the beauty of the capital, including the preservation of historic and distinctive buildings, as well as fostering greater familiarity with and interest in the city’s architectural values and development.
As recognition for the restoration of Frederiksberg Svømmehal, Cornelius Vöge received a diploma.
NOMINATED FOR ÅRETS ARNE 2025
We are honored that the members of the Copenhagen Association of Architects have nominated Frederiksberg Svømmehal as one of the five finalists for the prestigious architecture award, Årets Arne.
Årets Arne is awarded to completed works that have elevated architecture in the geographical area of the Copenhagen Association of Architects over the past year. The five nominated works will be presented at the New Year’s Event on January 31st in Copenhagen, after which the jury will select the final winner.
JULEMÆRKEFONDENS HUS – INAUGURATION
October 1st, 2024, we celebrate the inauguration of Julemærkefondens Hus. As daily workspace for 35 employees, it will host the organization’s growing national activities to support children in vulnerable positions.
The design language of the building shows clear references to the villas worthy of preservation in the area built in the 1920s. Reinterpretation of the classic villa can be seen in consistent elements such as the use of large unbroken roof surfaces, facade projections, gable and entrance areas and chimneys.
In the choice of materials, the focus is on durable natural and mono materials that are associated with homeliness.

The positive architectural reviews of newly renovated Frederiksberg Svømmehal have been a pleasure to read!
Five stars and “brilliant” from Berlingske and in latest issue of Danish architecture magazine, Arkitekten.dk , the reviewer Anne Pind finds it a “wholesome experience” how well everything – shapes, colours, light, volumes and more – now relates and matches in this historical public pool building. Reviews highlight how the project carefully has brought back the colour palette to Vilhelm Lundstrøm’s intended colour scheme and now corresponds with his beautiful and newly restored wall mosaics.
Cornelius Vöge contributed to the large project as restoration and architectural consultants regarding colour scheme and preservation, signage, and redesign and refurbishment of café area.
SELECTED FOR ANESMINDE VISITOR CENTRE
We are proud to announce that Vejle Municipality has chosen Cornelius Vöge (lead consultant), EKJ Rådgivende Ingeniører A/S og 360 Brandrådgivning for the transformation of Anesminde at the remarkable UNESCO World Heritage site Jelling in Southern Denmark.
The three-winged farm building, Anesminde, will become a new visitor centre near The Monument Area and part of the larger Ancient Road (Hærvejen) project telling the unique story and importance of Jelling in Danish history.
THE CONCERT CHAPEL – OPENING
The Concert Chapel is a careful transformation of an old closed chapel into a new music house designed for classical and other forms of acoustic music.
The Concert Chapel is now open and will host concerts, experimental music projects and activities, recording sessions, workshops etc.
Minimalistic architectural approach, adjustable and integrated lighting and acoustic solutions create a very distinct ambience without disrupting the beautiful character of the existing room.

FREDERIKSBERG SVØMMEHAL RE-OPENING SUMMER 2024
We provide architectural restoration services in relation to colouring and signage of Frederiksberg Svømmehal and new design of its original cafeteria, Marketenderiet. The public pool from 1934 will re-open summer 2024. Hallmark of the building is the large wall mosaics by Vilhelm Lundstrøm. Colour archaeological studies have been carried out in collaboration with the National Museum of Denmark and the colour scheme is now brought back to the original matching the time of the making of the beautiful mosaics. In a narrow space under the pool’s stand the original cafeteria is re-established in respect of history and preservation values.
NÆRHEDEN CHURCH HALL WON
We are proud to announce that Hedehusene Sogn has chosen Cornelius Vöge (lead consultant), EKJ Rådgivende Ingeniører A/S, Riis Akustik ApS, and light designer Jesper Kongshaug to design and built a new church hall in Nærheden. The church hall will become a landmark and central meeting place for church and community activities in the fast-growing neighborhood Nærheden and for all of Hedehusene. The hall is expected to open in 2027. The project was won in an invited competition with CUBO and Holscher Nordberg/Tulinius Lind.
DYSKÆRGAARD – TRANSFORMATION PROJECT
At the beautiful Veddelev peninsula and village north of Roskilde, Dyskærgaard, a typical 1920s farm building, will change its function and become office headquarters for the philanthropic and commercial activities of Liljeborg. Architecturally, the transformation is guided by our ambition to let landscape, gardens, and buildings all together tell the story of a typical Danish farm from this period and to show how farms like these can be used for new purposes. HOUSE OF CHESS – NEW PROJECT
We are happy to announce that Cornelius Vöge have been chosen as architects for Skakkens Hus – hjernens motionscenter® (House of Chess); a new meeting place for chess players and national head quarter of Dansk Skoleskak (Danish Scholastic Chess Federation). The project turns 750 m2 in a 1950s office building in central Copenhagen into a brain gym, that will host fun, social and educational activities for young and old interested in the fascinating game of chess. INSP OFFICE BUILDING OPENED
November 28th, 2023, we celebrate the opening of the INSP office building as an attractive up-to-date office facility next to the railroad in central Roskilde. Together with Liljeborg Aktieselskab and the social enterprise INSP we have saved and transformed the former slaughterhouse administration building from 1928. After being decommissioned for 10 years the building was saved by an extensive remediation. By leaving traces of what was and adding new layers the building is now transformed into a modern office building. FLETVÆRKET – DESIGNED BY GIRLS
Our proposal for Fletværket has been handed over to Himmelev Gymnasium and its partners. A new 660 m2 extension of the high school’s sports hall will connect and intertwine with the football pitches at Himmelev sports complex and form a new everyday meeting place for all. Special attention is paid to promote relationships, health, and wellbeing among the youth, especially girls aged 13-19. Inspired by third place thinking, the multifunctional house will create space for the girls’ school and social life and their sports and community activities to meaningfully intertwine. Ambition is to open season 2025/2026.
H.C. ANDERSEN MUSEUM AWARDED
H.C. Andersen Museum receives the Architecture Award Odense 2023 for best new building. The motivation highlights how the project is a particularly successful symbiosis between building and park and how round buildings and curved roofs speak a design language of their own, orients the project in all directions and embraces the city on all sides. The project is described as both bold and exciting with its own identity, but at the same time appears understated and naturally integrated into the surrounding city. “The museum appears in the best way as an adventurous place in the city and thus adds a new and unique value to the city of Odense”.
ARCHITECTURE DAY 2023
PH.D. HALFWAY CELEBRATION
The 2nd of October we reach mid-term in our ongoing research and innovation activities in collaboration between industrial ph.d. student and design strategist, Xiabo (Mimi) Shen, Roskilde University, Cornelius Vöge and Boligselskabet Sjælland. We will celebrate as part of Architecture Day 2023 and at our open studio event 4.30-6 pm, Mimi presents her research in meeting places and how they promote every day well-being including a sneak peek at results from her case study of Folkehuset Absalon. MARTIN PRAËM APPOINTED DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
On 1st of May 2023 we appointed Martin Praëm as COO at Cornelius Vöge. In his new position, Martin will be responsible for resource management, production and a continued high level of quality and service as studio activities are expected to grow in coming years.
Martin has already been with us for five years as a constructing architect and very skilled project manager. With a remarkably broad set of skills colleagues, clients, and business partners everyday benefit from his impressive eye for the whole as well as the detail.20
SYDHAVN CHURCH WON
Together with Rørbæk and Møller Arkitekter, Thing Brandt Landskab ApS and Artelia Denmark, we have been chosen and given the great honor to design Sydhavn Parish’s new church and parish hall. The project was won in tender after an invited round of negotiations based on references, process, method etc. and includes consultancy on the building program and design for at tender project for the construction of a church and parish building to be completed in 2027. New churches are rare and this church building, with its location on Copenhagen’s harbor front, will be very special as a gathering point for the new district by Sydhavnen in Copenhagen .
NEW GUIDE TO DANISH ARCHITECTURE
‘A Guide to Danish Architecture – Towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals’ presents 60 selected Danish architectural projects that, in each their own way, contribute to building stronger communities, improving the quality of life, and creating a more sustainable future for all.
The book, curated by members of the Danish Association of Architects, is published in conjunction with the UIA World Congress of Architects 2023 in Copenhagen. Cornelius Vöge participates with 2 projects – Poplen Youth Club and Hans Christian Andersen Museum11
COMPETITION WIN – THE HILLS OF BAGSVÆRD
In an invited competition, Gladsaxe Municipality has chosen the masterplan by Cornelius Vöge and Masu Planning as the winning project. The hills of Bagsværd is a new neighbourhood with a new public school, a new indoor athletic sports facility and new housing including transformation of the remaining buildings of Ringbo by architect Hans Chr. hansen. By recreating the hilly landscape of the site and preserving the existing trees, a new public park is connecting the new facilities to the existing neighborhoods including Utzon’s masterpiece Bagsværd Church.
50 BUILDINGS – SELECTED DANISH ARCHITECTURE 2016-2022
A new guide to Danish architecture will be published as part of the Year of Architecture 2023, which will be held in Denmark. The book will be published in English and will present the best Danish architecture to the rest of the world. Amongst the 50 selected works, you will find both No. Vium School and H.C. Andersen’s House in Odense. Thanks to ARKITEKTEN for selecting two of our projects for the publication, it’s a great honour.
DE FEM HALDER AWARDED AND REVIEWED
De Fem Halder receives the Viborg Municipality Architecture Prize 2022 and five hearts in Politiken architectural review by Karsten R.S. Ifversen. The project is acknowledged as a demonstration of how small interventions in landscape and historic buildings can form a poetic whole. The project is considered an example of how all architecture should aim for minimal interventions and maximum beauty, functionality, and durability. Special credit to Erik Brandt Dam Arkitekter and Charlotte Skibsted Landskabsarkitekter for the stunning results and years of work on the project, we developed and designed together back in the 2016-competition.30
ARKITEKTEN REVIEWS H.C. ANDERSENS MUSEUM
Latest issue of Arkitekten brings an architectural review of H.C. Andersen Museum in Odense. Kristine Annabell Torp calls new museum buildings and gardens “wonderfully uncentered” and pays special attention to how a “masterly” layout uses contrasts to bridge between the narrow streets and small houses in the old town and new urban spaces created as part of the large transformation of Odense city centre.
COMPETITION WIN – SORTEBRØDRE PLADS
Industriens Pension, Kuben, Boligselskabet Sjælland, Cornelius Vöge and Gründl Haahr Arkitekter have won Roskilde Municipality´s ambitious competition for 9.000 m2 new housing at Sortebrødre Plads in the historical center of Roskilde. Our proposal, Klosterhaverne, refers to the history of the nearby Roskilde Monastery. Buildings and landscapes are modern interpretations of monastery architecture and gardens. FREDERIKSBERG SVØMMEHAL – RESTORATION PROJECT
We have been selected to advise Frederiksberg Municipality in the restoration of the public swimming hall at Frederiksberg. The facility is famous for its 1930s mosaics by artist Vilhelm Lundstrøm. Our main task is to redecorate the café area with respect for the preservation values of the building. In collaboration with the National Museum of Denmark, a signing and color project includes color archeological studies. Frederiksberg public swimming pool is among Denmark’s oldest and most visited. Due to renovations, the pool has been closed to the public since May 2020.
RESEARCH PROJECT – MEETING PLACES, HEALTH AND WELL-BEING
What is the untapped welfare potential of the everyday meeting places we build? How can places promote health and well-being in local communities and especially among urban youth? And as we plan, build and run informal meeting places, what spatial, social and strategic designs should guide us? Supported by Innovationsfonden industrial ph.d. fellow and design strategist Mimi Shen has joined our team to conduct an interdisciplinary research project on third places. In collaboration with Roskilde University, Boligselskabet Sjælland and Innovation Centre Denmark, a new socio-spatial platform model will be developed, tested and research findings translated into our Cornelius Vöge design practice.
H.C. ANDERSEN MUSEUM GETS FIVE HEARTS
Danish newspaper Politiken reviews and gives the H.C. Andersen Museum architecture five out of six stars. The review headline, Snirkelinehuset, refers to the iconic round shapes of the museum buildings and landscapes and how they connect. Architectural reviewer, Karsten R.S. Ifversen, draws his attention to both subtle details and how the architecture successfully relates and adds to the many scales of its urban and historical surroundings. At the museum´s opening last year the exhibition itself was also awarded five stars in Politiken.
ROSKILDE CATHEDRAL VISITORS CENTRE
We are proud to announce that Fonden Kulturarv Roskilde Domkirke has selected us as client consultants in the develop-ment of a Roskilde Cathedral visitors centre. Listed as UNESCO World Heritage and with more than a hundred thousand visitors every year, Roskilde Cathedral is in need of more space to communicate its unique architecture, royal tombs and 800 years of Danish history. The project places the visitor center in Palægården, the royal palace close to the cathedral. The 4.800 m2 listed buildings from 1733 played an important role in the 19th century democratization of Denmark. The buildings are the first building by the renowned architect Laurids de Thurah. THE CHAPEL
Cornelius Vöge has been selected as architect and lead consultant in the transformation of the preservation worthy chapel at Skt. Jørgensbjerg cemetery in Roskilde. The chapel will become a music house for classical and other forms of acoustic music, not to mention a local meeting place for Roskilde’s vibrant music community. It will host concerts, recording sessions, workshops etc. Adjustable and integrated lighting and acoustic solutions and distinct architectural concepts will create the multi-functionality and special ambience wanted. Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) is conducted in close collaboration with Realdania.
DONATION TO VISIONARY TRANS-FORMATION OF TRADITIONAL GYM
The Danish Foundation for Culture and Sports Facilities (Lokale- og Anlægs-fonden) donates 2.6 mio. DKK to co-finance the showcase transformation of the traditional gym at Søndermarkskolen, Frederiksberg. Project solutions are des-cribed as “amazingly visionary and inspi-ring”. Simple but radical architectural changes are made, in respect of the preservation-worthy building, and gives Søndermarkskolen an up-to-date school sports facility, also facilitating a wider use of digital teaching tools. New openings in the building will support Søndermark-skolen in becoming a more popular neighbourhood meeting place in after-noons, evenings and weekends. For more
ASSOCIATE PARTNER JONAS ROAR HANSEN – 10 YEARS ANNIVERSARY
On October 1st we celebrated that associate partner and achitect Jonas Roar Hansen has been with Cornelius Vöge Atelier for Architecture for ten years.
Jonas knows the studios´ history, vision, values, work methods and projects better than most. Among many projects, he has the new H.C. Andersens Museum, Livsrum Herlev, Nr. Vium School and North Atlantic House in his portfolio.
Both clients and collegues value Jonas´ experience and especially his excellence in understanding building materials and his special talent for designing beautiful details and making sure they are part of the project as built.
COMPETITION WIN – URBAN RENEWAL IN ROSKILDE
Our team, Gründl Haahr Arkitekter, MASU Planning, JL Engineering A/S and Cornelius Vöge Atelier for Architecture as lead consultant, has won the competition for the 2022-2026 renewal of the large residential and recreational area, Roskilde Sydvest.
Our proposal, Byens Haver (Gardens of the City), highlights the green character of the area by introducing all kinds of gardens as its new identity. The project includes the renewal of more than 30.000 m2 park, new housing, new allotment gardens, a community house with a restaurant, healthcare centre and new traffic and parking solutions.
GUBSØ GARAGE – SUCCESSFUL OPENING
The visitors have embraced Silkeborg’s new attraction, Gubsø Garage. The opening and summer exhibition, Classic Car Exhibition ´21, has been a well-attended success.

LIVSRUM HERLEV SHORTLISTED FOR WAF AWARD 2021
Livsrum Herlev is shortlisted for the World Architecture Festival Award 2021 in the category Completed Buildings – Health.
Livsrum Herlev, designed and built for Danish Cancer Society in collaboration with Realdania, offers counselling and various activities for cancer patients, relatives and those left behind. It is one of seven cancer counselling centres in Denmark built to showcase a new form of healthcare architecture.

JULEMÆRKEFONDENS HUS
Cornelius Vöge Atelier for Arkitektur has been selected as architect and lead consultant for the building of Julemærkefondens Hus in Roskilde. As daily workspace for 35 employees, it will host the organisations´ growing national activities to support children in vulnerable positions.
The project recreates the historic connection between Roskilde Fjord and the iconic Haraldsborg building from 1910, a former school building and now housing a children´s retreat for Julemærkefonden. The new administration building will be gently integrated into the context of classic and historic villas in the area worthy of preservation.
COMPETITION PREQUALIFICATION – URBAN RENEWAL OF ROSKILDE SOUTHWEST DISTRICT
With Cornelius Vöge as lead consultant, our team, MASU Planning, Gründl Haahr Architects and JL Engineering A/S, has been chosen to participate in the Roskilde Southwest District competition. The project renews and supports recent years´ of positive change in the large public housing area of Southwest of Roskilde, with a new community centre including a community house and a daycare centre, new recreational urban spaces and a housing renewal. To connect the area with its surroundings new traffic solutions and a 30.000 m2 park is also part of the project. The competition is organized by Roskilde Kommune in collaboration with the public house company, Boligselskabet Sjælland.
GUBSØ CLASSIC CAR GARAGE OPENS IN MAY
The visitor centre and working museum for classic cars at Gubsø near Silkeborg, Denmark, will soon welcome its first visitors. The 3,500 m² building complex is a modern interpretation of classic industrial architecture, with its large volumes, robust qualities and readiness for future generations to change its use.

SØNDERMARKSKOLEN – TRANSFORMATION OF SCHOOL SPORTS FACILITY SELECTED
A new multi-user sports facility at the listed school building, Søndermarkskolen, Frederiksberg Kommune, has been selected by Lokale- og Anlægsfonden, DIF and Dansk Skole-Idræt as one of five projects to be carried out. The project transforms a traditional ”gymnastiksal” into a shared social space and everyday lab connecting school, sports clubs and local community. The purpose is to daily facilitate more physical and mental health promoting activities. Through co-creation between key stakeholders, users and the studio novel ideas combining architectural and organisational strategies have merged into an innovative common project to be further developed throughout 2021.
DORTHE TOFT BOESEN IS OUR NEW DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
Excellent leadership and broad term of reference are among the reasons why we have appointed Dorthe Toft Boesen director of operations at Cornelius Vöge.
Dorthe has already been with us for three years, where she has been a skilled project manager on several of our big, international projects. In her new position, she will be responsible for the daily management of the office and use her leadership experience to support the employees and set the right team of staff in new projects. In addition, she will secure progress and quality assurance on our projects and support the dialog with the clients.
We look forward to continuing our successful cooperation with Dorthe in the future.
INTERVIEW IN POLITIKEN
We have been on an important, cultural and historical walk around Copenhagen’s harbor with Politiken, DAC and a couple of our talented colleges.
Historically, the harbor has had great industrial significance for the danish capital but has since undergone a remarkable cultural and architectural development. The harbor front is now a natural and important part of the Copenhagener´s consciousness, identities and lives.
Our stop was at Skuespilhuset from where we could look at Papirøen. What is now a construction site will within years transform into the new Water Culture House, where the significance of water in history, culture and life of the inhabitants of Copenhagen will be celebrated.
You have to understand the city’s history when you build, and you have to be aware that there are stories and traces everywhere. Copenhagen hold a thousand years of history and our most important task as architects are – alike writers – to grasp the narratives and use them in our architecture.

A NEW HOUSING TYPOLOGY – TOWN HOUSES COMPLETED
Our first larger housing project HYRDEHØJ HOUSING has just been completed in collaboration with our partners from Broen Development, Art-tek Ingeniør Rådgivning and Anne Stausholm Landskabsarkitekter.
The 35 townhouses combine the best of the rowhouses with the best of the individual villas.
The housing cluster is organized as a continuation of the existing village main street. The community spirit and close neighborliness are supported by backyards facing an open wildflower meadow in the center of the project.
Parish Centre in Vindinge published in the Petersen Magazine
We are pleased to see our brick house for the Parish Centre in Vindinge published in the Petersen Magazine. The project express an architecture based on the existing village structures of narrow streets and alleys creating a cultural identity based on the materials and traditions of hundreds of years of church architecture. As a modern building the parish centre is keeping a close dialogue with architect J. D. Herholdt’s church from 1875.
The Petersen Magazine is published twice a year all over the world showing acclaimed brickwork and responsible architecture.”
Transformation of IRMA coffee roasting facility
We are proud to announce, that ELF Development has chosen us as architects for the transformation of the listed and iconic IRMA coffee roasting facility in Rødovre, DK.
The coffee tower was designed by architect Bent Mackeprang and built in 1968, where until 1986 it was the center for roasting, grinding and packaging IRMA’s coffee products. All with one purpose: to create greatness and quality.
LIVSRUM NOMINATED FOR HEALTH BUILDING OF THE YEAR
Together with Realdania and Kræftens Bekæmpelse, we are nominated for the honourable prize ”Health Building of the Year”. A prize which celebrates inspirational health buildings in Denmark. A nomination we are really proud of!
The nominated project is Livsrum (Room for Life), which is affiliated with Herlev Hospital’s cancer center. Every third in Denmark gets cancer and often experiences great mental fatigue which makes it difficult to live a normal life. Livsrum is based on the filosophy of the healing forces in nature – and with healing nature as inspiration design and beautiful settings affects health and well being.
LIVSRUM HERLEV CENTRE FOR CANCER CARE INAUGURATED
Livsrum Herlev is the last and largest of seven new centres for cancer care that Realdania opens together with the Danish Cancer Society. Cornelius Vöge has designed the house which is bright and welcoming – with a green common space as the heart of the building and several green protected outdoor spaces and facilities. The intention is for cancer patients and relatives to be able to step directly from the hospital and the surrounding heavy traffic into a space that creates homeliness and tranquility.
NEW INTERPRETATION OF THE COMMUNITY HOUSE
We love our home town of Roskilde and the neighbouring settings. For the third competition out of three in Roskilde community we got through to the final and got the 2nd price – this time for Viby Library and Culture House with a new interpretation of the small town community house.

NEW COMPETITIONS
During summer and autumn, we will be working on two new exciting competition projects:
The cultural community house for Roskilde Festival, The Dance Theater Aaben Dans and the Music organisation Råstof Roskilde. We will be working together with contractor Elindco, Mangor & Nagel Arkitekter and MOE. The qualified architectural teams involve Henning Larsen, CUBO, CCO and Effekt.
Together with Øllgaard rådg. ing. and landscape architects Masu Planning we are also working on a new parish centre for Ullerød Church designed by Ulrik Plesner. The competitors are MORRIS+Company, Kjær & Richter, Friis & Moltke and Fogh & Følner.
Positioner i ny dansk arkitektur
Back in 2015, Cornelius Vöge received Nykredit Fund’s Motivation Prize, which is awarded to younger design studios, which show excellent abilities and contributes with interesting new angles to the architecture. In the book “Positioner i ny dansk arkitektur”, the prize winners from the last 13 years are presented which draws a unique and updated portrait of the very latest architecture, that characterizes the Danish architecture right now. We are happy to be represented and to have the opportunity to show some of the projects we are working with right now.
THE HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN MUSEUM REACHES A MILESTONE
On Tuesday April 2nd, H.C. Andersen’s birthday, the first foundation stone of the new H.C. Andersen’s Museum in Odense was laid. In the writer’s spirit, the foundation stone, in the form of a chest, included paper cuttings, project drawings and Klods Hans’ fairytale. The museum, which is partly underground, is integrated into a park which is publicly accessible, thus integrating the museum into daily life in Odense. The project is designed in collaboration with Kengo Kuma & Associates, CORNELIUS VÖGE, MASU Planning and Søren Jensen Consulting Engineers.

Bruun Entreprise, Stokvad Rådgivende Ingeniører and MASU Planning, we are excited to propose a new cultural meeting point, which through its architecture becomes an inspiring asset for the local community.
NEW PARTNER
CORNELIUS VÖGE has experienced accelerated growth and success within the past few years. The office team has expanded, along with many new projects, including several winning competition proposals and various architectural awards. As a natural progression of the development of the office, as of the 1st of January 2019, Søren Harder Nielsen has become partner at CORNELIUS VÖGE. The partnership now consists of Søren and the founders Dan Cornelius and Nanna Vöge. Over the years Søren has played a leading role at Cornelius Vöge both contributing with inspiration and knowledge to the majority of the office’s competitions and projects.

Nanna Vöge and Dan Cornelius receives Nykredits Motivationspris 2015. In the official announcement architect Dorte Mandrup says that CORNELIUS VÖGE puts a special imprint on everyday architecture, when interpreting and renewing the typology, creating fine and human environments. The Price Committee highlights the North Atlantic House where CORNELIUS VÖGE shows good understanding of using Nordic modernism to create a unifying building.
